Pitchers and Jugs
Taller shapes like pitchers, bottles and jugs have always interested me as a potter. I seem to make about twice as many of these forms as I do large bowls and plates. I have really taken an interest in the presence of a closed rounded form because of its apparent sculptural weight. These forms are made to be functional, but can easily be used purely for aesthetic appreciation. I strive to create new and interesting organic forms that relate to natural processes of earth, time, and space, while still creating an object that will function for an intended use.
